About the Artist:
Joan received a Masters of Arts degree from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. With dual certification as an art teacher and librarian, she chose to spend her 25 years in education as a teacher/librarian. Now retired and a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, Joan finally has the time to pursue her life long love of painting. She has studied with Ben Neary, Betty Komarisky, Del Peterson and Phil Steel. Joan has attended workshops with well known artists Terry Madden, Tom Jones, Pat Weaver, Lian Zhen and Tom Lynch. Joan's paintings have been accepted in juried shows. Locally in the "9/11 Reflections" and Four County Juried Shows at the Backus Gallery. Her watercolor paintings of tropical scenes, flowers, and places to which she has traveled have won awards and can be found in local galleries and private collections. Joan is a member of the Florida Watercolor Society,Treasure Coast Art Association and the Vero Beach Art Club. She is presenly on the Board of Directors of the Vero Beach Art Club and The Treasure Coast Art Association. Her paintings are presently on exhibit in the Treasure Coast Art Gallery, Fort Pierce, Florida. Joan teachers watercolor classes at TCAA
