2011 Easter Seal Stamp Artist
“Retirement,” says Mary Ann, “has allowed me to spend time in the field of my first passion, art.” A former resident of Big Rapids, Michigan and Ferris State University Emeritus, she has found Vero Beach, Florida the perfect location for pursuing life’s events. She is an award-winning artist with her painting, “Nature’s Wonder” being selected as Easter Seals stamp for 2011 in a national competition. Mary Ann’s paintings are in shows throughout the Treasure Coast area. She is one of the founding owners of Gallery 14 in the Historic Arts District of Vero Beach, Florida.Artist Statement“I believe a painting should evoke an emotion from the viewer.” Mary Ann’s paintings are full of pure color and shows the wonders of nature. She favors delicate watercolors for flowers, acrylics for abstracts, and pastels for landscapes. Small animals, in watercolor and colored pencil, are her favorites also. Currently, she is exploring the abstract world with the use of watercolors and acrylics using various mediums for texture. Mary Ann has a curious and adventuresome nature that requires her to constantly try something new.
