All residents at Mennonite Home Communities have the assurance of continuing care, regardless of financial circumstances. Financial support is provided confidentially, with no decrease in service.
"The assurance of continuing care is very important. I never expected to outlive my resources, but I didn't anticipate the impact of drug and medical costs. I thank God that the Mennonite Home upholds their traditions!"
- a health care resident since 1994

Benevolent Care is supported through the Promise Partners Fund. The Promise Partners Fund provides benevolent care to those who have outlived their resources.

Friends of Mennonite Home Communities are encouraged to make gifts, memorials and bequests to this fund. We believe that many Christians share the biblical view of our responsibility to support our needy "senior saints."

"We make memorial contributions to the Promise Partners Fund whenever we lose a Woodcrest friend because we know how important this community was to them."

Our Challenges

With increasing life expectancies, more residents outlive their resources. Government reimbursements do not cover the cost of providing care. At present, MHC provides $2,000,000 of free care annually.

Of course our resident families are sometimes hit by similar challenges.

It is only in the face of a personal crisis that families truly appreciate the blessing of the continual care made possible by benevolent care funding.

"My spouse and I came here because of the assurance of continuing care in a Christian environment. When Alzheimer's disease struck, we were devastated both emotionally and physically. My spouse now requires health care, but I don't worry about the financial aspect because of the benevolent care fund. Nobody knows when they may be relying on that assurance of continuing care."
