Capital campaigns support building and renovation projects, helping us to keep our resident charges affordable. At the present time we have one capital campaign active on the Mennonite Home campus and a second campaign unfolding at the Woodcrest Villa campus.
Parkvue Renovation Campaign
Over one hundred years, the functions and expectations of Parkvue Lobby have changed dramatically. The Parkvue Renovation plan provides a more welcoming initial impression and restructures the lobby area to be more functional and inviting. High-quality fixtures and choice materials will create a fresh and attractive feeling that will endure for years.
Generous donors have already provided a library, café, dining room, and sun porch! NAMING OPPORTUNITIES Major contributors may name an area, such as the Gift Shop or Four Seasons Room, in memory of a beloved family member, friend or even an organization. Please contact Greg Pierce, Director of Development, at (717) 390-4903 to discuss your interests. FAMILY TREE OF LIFE The “Family Tree of Life” puts participation within reach of all families who have been served at Mennonite Home. Families can honor the memories of loved ones, express gratitude for the care they received and at the same time help us to serve future generations. The Family Tree of Life, located opposite the Chapel, will be adorned with gold, silver and bronze leaves engraved with the names of family loved ones. Donors can also remain anonymous or place a favorite scripture verse on the leaf. These leaves represent gifts of $1500, $1000 and $500 toward the renovation. Mennonite Home is improving its facilities to better meet the needs of current and future generations of residents. The ongoing story of Mennonite Home providing highly professional care in a Christ-like manner is worthy of your generous support.
Woodcrest Villa Chapel Campaign
VISION of a CHAPEL Woodcrest is our village, and the Community Center is our downtown. As our village expands, so too must our downtown. Today our village lacks a true chapel for worship, weddings and funerals, and a performance center for concerts, films, town meetings and speakers. The Board of Directors is committed to complete our downtown with a dynamic Chapel / Performance Center.
TOP FLOOR The Chapel / Performance Center features a raised stage, sloped floor and staggered theater- style chairs with arms. The prominent cross, stained-glass, altar, communion table and lectern can be screened by a curtain during secular performances. A prayer room located in the steeple also supports family needs during funeral services. The audio/visual system features TV display and projection capability, surround sound, great acoustics and hearing assist devices. Imagine a camera projecting the hands of a great pianist for all of the audience to enjoy! Adequate coat space, rest rooms, elevators, storage and access/exit routes complement this dynamic new focal point of our village.
LOWER FLOORS TERRACE (Mezzanine level) - A computer training center provides both training and Internet access for our community. An artists' “dirty room” with great light is tucked securely into the steeple, with clean-up facilities nearby.
TERRACE TWO (Ground Floor) - The first floor features the Wellness Center, game room (pool and ping pong) and Beauty Shop with a waiting lounge, all easily accessible to apartments and villas alike. Adequate parking is immediately adjacent. FUNDRAISING The Capital Campaign will unfold as our plans and pricing for the building emerges.
