At
Moravian Manor, volunteers play an integral role
in the daily life of our community. They bring
a quality of caring that enhances the Manor's
daily activities and services and strengthens
our commitment to the highest quality of life
for all residents.
Volunteers
are involved in many important services. We coordinate
assignments to suit individual interests, talents,
and schedules, designing your special gift of
time to be an enriching and rewarding part of
your life. The volunteer experience enables you
to: create new friendships, learn or share new
skills, be a valuable part of the volunteer team,
explore career choices, and most of all, make
a difference in the lives of others. Volunteer
opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- Wheelchair transportation to activities and various programs such as Sunday Vesper Services
- Assisting with activity programs
- Holiday decorating
- Leading discussion groups
- Delivering mail
- Playing the piano or organ
- Visiting with residents
- Assisting in the children's child care center
- Mending/sewing
- Auxiliary activities
- Operating in-house video/TV system
- Driving/assisting on resident outings

The
Lamplighters Association
The Lamplighters Association supports the
residents of Moravian Manor in a variety of ways.
Residents' needs and interests are communicated
to participating congregations and volunteerism
is promoted. Fund-raising events are coordinated
to help finance specific projects and to encourage
more people to join in our mission.
The
Lamplighters Association is building upon a rich
tradition of service to the residents of Moravian
Manor. Membership in the auxiliary, open to anyone
interested in enriching the lives of Manor residents,
gives opportunities to:
- Participate in a ministry to the aging,
sharing God's love with the residents of Moravian
Manor
- Better understand the reality of aging.
- Accept people as they are
and as they
age
- Use spare time productively
- Develop and share talents with others
- Experience the joy of giving to others
- Develop new friendships
- Promote the mission and ministry of Moravian
Manor.
The
Lamplighters Association invites men and women
to become a part of our program as we reach out
in love to "brighten lives" of Manor
residents. For more information or how to become
involved, contact:
