Grand re-opening of Eagle Wing and Eagle Commons
Woodcrest Villa residents recently celebrated the grand re-opening of Eagle Wing and Eagle Commons located within the continuing care retirement community on Harrisburg Pike in Lancaster. Eagle Wing originally opened in 1996 after the severe snows of 1995. Eagle Commons house the worship and entertainment space for Woodcrest Villa residents.
After 14 years, Eagle Wing was recently re-energized. Renovations included the hallways and the common areas. One of the most extensive renovations was to Eagle Commons. The dark colors of the 1990's were replaced by more vibrant and contemporary bright yellows. Lighting and audio visual capabilities were also improved to enhance the visitor experience. In addition, a beautiful stained glass effect was created at the front of the room for the worship services. The result is a new decor that is vibrant and comfortable.
On September 23, close to 130 Woodcrest Villa residents attended a dedication ceremony featuring a historical perspective of Eagle Wing as well as resident entertainment that included: Evelyn Sigman, Carol Bulson, Elizabeth Rogers, Vernon & Angela Stinebaugh, and Louise Franze.
