"If you don't know where you're going, you will wind up somewhere else." ~ Yogi berra
"Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen." ~ Peter Marshall
There is no shortage of quotations regarding Strategic Planning. Many of them are quite humorous and many have a ring of truth amidst the humor!
I believe that internal strategic planning discussions are critical as we plan our future. It was refreshing to see animated dialogue among our Trustees as they pondered and probed our new proposed Strategic Plan with our Senior Leadership Staff.
It is clear that our future will be exciting and vibrant. Moravian Manor is committed to working at expanding our senior living options in the near future. We also recognize that when we expand onto a new campus, our current residents and facilities must be top priority. We embrace the fact that any future housing options will be enhanced by our current campus offerings.
We also want to reaffirm our commitment to the local community. We do not desire to become an "enclave" that is totally separate from the community. Our desire is that we continue to build linkages with the local community which share the wealth of resources in a bilateral fashion. The strength of Moravian Manor's ties to the Lititz community is essential as we reach out to a broader market area in the coming years. Both Moravian Manor and Lititz are truly "special places" that are committed to offering the est in community living.
reviewing the Vision and Mission of Moravian Manor also has reaffirmed our strong health care brand. Regardless of one's views on health care reform, it is clear that health care is undergoing rapid change. Moving forward, affiliations and partnerships will become ever more important. These relationships will become part of the Manor's future business plan.
For Moravian Manor to "be all that it can be", we will need further sophistication in many areas. Thus the importance of Governance as a Strategic Focus Area. The way we conduct business will need to change and become more agile as we move into the future.
I am optimistic about the future and the energy that I witnessed as this plan was put together. I hope that each of you will be an integral part of Moravian Manor's exciting future.
